About Dot’s Little House

Dot's Little House has been a beloved part of both the Girl Scout and Columbus communities since 1949 and remains one of the few historic “Little Houses” in Georgia still actively serving girls and the community today. Following a major renovation and rededication in 2024, the space continues its legacy as a welcoming hub for leadership development, community engagement, and gathering opportunities.

The building was rededicated in honor and memory of Dorothy “Dottie” Morris Cheves, a former Girl Scouts staff member remembered for her dedication to girls and her embodiment of the Girl Scout mission of courage, confidence, and character. Her impact on Girl Scouting and the Columbus community helped shape the welcoming spirit that continues at Dot’s Little House today.

Today, Dot’s Little House offers flexible rental opportunities for community organizations, outreach initiatives, trainings, networking events, formal corporate meetings, and other professional or business-related gatherings. Guests may reserve the center’s conference room for meetings, workshops, presentations, and collaborative events, while the updated facility also provides a warm and inviting environment for mixers and community engagement opportunities.
